Freediving Santa Maria caves, Comino Island, Malta

Freediving Santa Maria caves with Malta Freediving Club. Some parts of these dives can be dangerous, and have cost the lives of freedivers in the past. So, do not go here without someone who has previous experience of the caves! Normally when we go here we start diving outside the caves where there is a shallow arch and plenty of fish. Then move on to a short, well lit swim through between two caves. 3'd part is the longer dark swim into the cave room where the Count of Monte Cristo found his treasure in the film from 2002. Last swim through we do is Zorro cave. Named after the Z shaped mouth of the cave.
