June 12 2026 ASLM 2026 - Abstract Writing Capacity Building Initiative Session 1
June 12 2026 This session focuses on early-career professionals, first-time abstract writers, researchers, laboratorians, public health practitioners, and individuals planning to submit abstracts to the ASLM 2026 Biennial Conference to participate in the ASLM 2026 Abstract Writing Capacity Building Initiative. Participation in scientific conferences such as ASLM 2026 provides a valuable platform for sharing research findings, strengthening professional visibility, fostering collaboration, and contributing to evidence-based laboratory and public health practice. However, many early-career professionals and first-time authors face challenges in developing and submitting high-quality abstracts. To support aspiring authors and promote broader participation in ASLM 2026, ASLM is launching a capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen abstract-writing skills, improve submission quality, and build confidence among participants preparing abstracts for the conference. The initiative will be delivered through two interactive webinar sessions and will provide practical guidance on developing strong, competitive abstracts for scientific conferences. Why Participate? Participants will gain practical skills in: • Structuring a scientific abstract effectively • Understanding the essential components of abstract writing • Presenting data and research findings clearly and concisely • Avoiding common abstract-writing mistakes • Meeting ASLM 2026 abstract submission requirements • Building confidence in scientific communication and research dissemination Target Audience This initiative is designed for: • Early-career professionals in laboratory medicine and public health • First-time abstract writers • Researchers and practitioners with limited experience in scientific writing • Individuals intending to submit abstracts to the ASLM 2026 Biennial Conference Speakers Session 1 (English) 📅 12 June 2026 | 🕒 16:00–18:00 EAT • Prof Sikhulile Moyo, Laboratory Director and Research Associate at the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership (BHP) and Harvard School of Public Health.
