Chromoblastomycosis Phillip H McKee

Chromoblastomycosis is one of the more commonly encountered deep mycoses. It is instantly recognisable because of the presence of pigmented sclerotic bodies. It can be distinguished from pheaohypehomycosis by the absence of budding and the paucity or absence of hyphae. Chromoblastomycosis is acquired from trauma with implantation of the fungi as might follow a thorn prick. This video highlights the histological and clinical features.
