On 25 May 1958, legendary US journalist and war correspondent Edward R Murrow was interviewed by ITN's Robin Day, in an instalment of ITN's special interview series Tell the People. In a wide-ranging interview, Murrow discussed his career in broadcast journalism (including his famous and consequential interview with notorious anticommunist Senator Joseph McCarthy); the difference between the rules and principles of journalism in the US and the UK; whether Britain was in a state of decline; and the American political landscape.
