Chad Thomas on arrested Ekurhuleni officials
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality once again hogged the headlines this week when its former city manager and three suspended senior managers were arrested by the Madlanga Commission's Recommendations Task Team. Former City boss Imogen Mashazi, Suspended Police Department Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi, Head of Legal Kemi Behari and Human Resources Head Linda Gxasheka, both also on suspension, were arrested on Wednesday. They appeared before the Germiston Magistrate's Court on charges of fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice, and were all released on a R50,000 bail each.
