Saisons Musique: Imagined by Mercan Dede A visual voyage and a DJ mix created exclusively from the Saisons Musique catalogue, all the way back to our first release in 2018. Every frame of this video was filmed by Mercan Dede himself, across seasons, in the forests of Québec and the hidden urban gems of Montréal. Psychedelic, handcrafted, mandala-like. In an age where everything can be generated, every frame here was lived, walked and felt. It's the first time classics from our discography have been shaped into a single concept mix, and we couldn't have dreamed of a more meaningful hand to do it. Mercan Dede is a Turkish ground-breaking multimedia explorer whose work sits at the intersection of Sufi mysticism and modern electronic sound since the 90s. Pioneer of merging electronic grooves with traditional eastern instruments, the one-of-a-kind artist has been touring the world with his Mercan Dede Secret Tribe, collaborating with artists like Ludovico Einaudi & sharing stages with whirling dervishes. He is also an incredible painter of mandalas and textured tapestries that open windows into the depth of humanity and truth. Co-founder of Halaken Collective, he's been creating between Istanbul and Montréal for over 30 years. For us at Saisons, this goes beyond a collaboration. Mercan has been a friend, a mentor and a humble but powerful presence in our story, walking closely with Dexter, Rafaëlle and Kora along the way. We are deeply grateful.
