We are the sum of the stories that inhabit us: those we live, those we hear, those we tell. Over time, those we live mingle with those we hear, so much so that we can no longer distinguish them, and even the stories of others, which we have heard, become our own. We are a set of communicating vessels of stories, and without them we could not exchange the experience of living, which is equivalent, ultimately, to living itself. I cannot truly say I have lived something until I have told it to someone who was willing to hear it. Out of love, out of necessity, out of convenience, out of fun, out of coercion, by chance. Every time I have experienced something important in my life, I have felt the immediate urge to tell it, to share it and capture it, to make it real; and every time I have felt fully alive, it has been because I was witnessing the story of something great. Every person who has been a part of my life and who is still a part of it has enriched the infinite book of stories I carry within me and that shape my cognitive, emotional, and sentimental approach to life. It is these stories that have transformed me into who I am that I want to talk to you about; these stories and those who told them to me.
