After arriving in Wonosobo and disembarking the BIMA UTAMA bus, my next trip was back to Bandung. For the Wonosobo-Bandung route, there aren't many bus options. The most frequently recommended are BUDIMAN and SINAR JAYA. It's not just recommended, though... those are the only options 🤣 This time, my choice fell on the BUDIMAN bus, but not the usual BUDIMAN. Instead, I got a bus that's becoming increasingly rare on the roads: a bus with a Hino RG chassis. For bus enthusiasts or those who frequently ride intercity buses, the name Hino RG immediately conjures up images of old-school, classic, and old-school. Despite its age, the BUDIMAN Hino RG bus still feels incredibly powerful, especially for tackling the Wonosobo-Bandung (Cimahi) route, which is known for its sharp turns, long climbs, and descents. The engine feels solid, the traction is distinctive, and the driving sensation is different from the latest modern buses. That's where the fun lies. Riding a bus with a vintage engine still in service until 2025 feels like a nostalgic journey. On challenging mountain roads, the Hino RG's performance proves that, despite its age, its power is still reliable.
