The 2026 edition of Survivor has come to an end with a night full of emotions, physical challenges, and family reunions. After almost 100 days of living together and surviving, Maica Benedicto was crowned the winner of the competition, winning the final public vote against Alba Paul and securing the €200,000 prize. The final gala, hosted by Jorge Javier Vázquez and María Lamela, began with the arrival of the four finalists at the Mediaset España studios by helicopter. Contestants Alba, Alvar, Maica, and Soto faced a night designed to test their resilience and public support through a triple televoting system and two qualifying games. The tension was palpable from the start with the first elimination of the night. While Alvar was immune thanks to his victory in the semifinal leader challenge, Alba, Maica, and Soto had to face the audience's verdict. After a series of votes, José Manuel Soto was the first to be eliminated, becoming the fourth finalist of the season and later reuniting with his wife, Pilar, and their children. The three remaining contestants then faced the first game of the night, called "The Altar of Poseidon." In this iconic challenge, the hopefuls had to build a ladder by fitting puzzle pieces onto a structure to ascend to the top and light a brazier with a torch. Alba and Alvar were the fastest to complete the task, securing their place in the second game, while Maica, visibly upset after losing the challenge, was exposed to another public vote. The second challenge, titled "The Final Battle of Poseidon," was described as the biggest game of the format. This test included a complex obstacle course that, for the first time, incorporated a double apnea challenge. The contestants had to free themselves from chains underwater, use keys to unlock stations, and solve a submerged puzzle. A key element was the family surprises: Alba had the help of her wife, Dulceida, and Alvar had the help of his sister, Catalina. Alba successfully completed the apnea challenge and won, thus securing her place in the final vote. This left Maica and Alvar facing off in a final public vote to decide who would join Alba in the grand finale. Through blind voting, the public decided to save Maica, leaving Alvar as the second eliminated contestant and third finalist of the season. The night's finale marked a turning point in the show's history. After 15 years, two women once again faced each other in the Survivor finale, something that hadn't happened since the 2011 edition when Rosa Benito and Rosi Arcas competed for the victory. This time, Maica and Alba battled for the title. After a voting process where the public showed a clear preference, Maica was crowned the winner. During the ceremony, Borja González, winner of the 2015 edition, joined the audience on stage for the final moment. The night also saw other former contestants, such as Carlos Lozano and Ivonne, make appearances on the set. With Maica's victory, the Survivor 2026 season comes to a close, although the survival challenge will continue soon with the arrival of Survivor All Star 2026. To definitively close the season, the final debate, hosted by Sandra Barneda, will take place next Sunday, June 14th, starting at 10:00 PM, where all the events of the nearly 100 days of the competition will be analyzed.
