Why does the narcissistic pervert embody the expression "lawless"? They apply the rules to others, but not to themselves. They demand honesty, commitment, and respect, but they don't live up to what they demand of others. They have no trust in humanity or in anything greater than themselves. They feel no sense of loyalty, even if they claim otherwise. They don't respect the law, but consider themselves to be the law. They destroy the victim's sense of internal rules in order to exert their coercive control without restraint. Regaining one's inner compass and sense of self involves reconnecting with oneself, one's body, one's emotions, one's needs, one's limits, and one's values. Grounding is essential to achieving this. Recognizing the malicious manipulation and expressions of their insidious violence facilitates this step back. Reattributing to the narcissistic pervert what they projected onto the victim facilitates reconnection with oneself.
