Loch Achray to Loch Venachar via Blackwater 2024

Wee video of my adventures on Loch Achray to Loch Venachar via Blackwater with my Sup Buddy Marion on 7th Jan 2024. We left a car at Loch Venachar and started from Ben Venue Car park as Ben A'an Car park was full. First time I have navigated Blackwater which is a fast flowing river with plenty of hazards on the way. During this time of year it can be riding high, at this time it was about 1.5m above normal level. Myself and Marion are both experienced paddlers and had the appropriate equipment. We both had either dry suits/semi dry suit, QR waist belts, PFD, first aid kit, spare paddle and also a throw line. Helmets were not required but while the river is high, could be used as protection from the many low hanging branches.
