In those days, the Bolsheviks hunted down members of the Romanov family throughout Russia. Eighteen members of the dynasty and countless people in their circle fell victim to them. However, some managed to flee the country in time. Today, about 60 members of the Tsarist family still live around the world. The filmmakers visited the descendants of the Romanovs. The elderly brothers, Princes Nicholas and Dmitri, give a personal and well-informed account of their family's history. The fate of the Tsar's family, which they actively helped to clarify, stays with them to this day. Lead investigator Vladimir Solovyov impressively recounts how the murder of the century was solved, with all its brutality and many mysteries.
