The Last Ride on My Yamaha XJ600 | Storm-Soaked Wiltshire Roads & a Surprise Goodbye

I thought this was just another winter outing on my trusty Yamaha XJ600… turns out it was the last ride. Fresh off the back of the recent UK storm Chandra, I set off across some of my familiar Wiltshire lanes. No rain falling, but soaked roads, standing water, mud everywhere, potholes hiding in puddles, you get the picture. The XJ600, despite its enthusiastic exhaust note (yes… holes in both cans 😬), did exactly what it’s always done: started, ran, and got on with it without complaint. The surprise came the very next day. I'd recently posted a half-hearted Facebook Marketplace advert (wasn't sure if I even wanted to sell it)… a full price offer… buyer shows up with a trailer... cash exchanged… and just like that, the Yamaha was gone. Winter hack duties officially over. This ride also doubled as another audio experiment. I finally got excellent results from the DJI Mic 3 when paired via Bluetooth to the DJI Action 5. After endless frustration with the Mic 3 + Action 6 combo on a motorcycle, I’ve now confirmed the mic isn’t the issue - that pairing simply doesn’t work for my use case. The Action 6 has gone back, the Mic 3 stays. So this video is part ride-out, part post-storm reality check, part tech test… and part unexpected farewell.
