07.08.2023. Save the date! Summer took a short break, and it's currently quite cold with some mountain peaks covered in white. In the well-known winter sports regions, the weather has been more autumnal than summery in the past few days. There was heavy rainfall, and the temperatures were not at all summery. Especially during the night from Sunday to Monday, the temperatures dropped, resulting in a new layer of snowfall. Music: credit: ‪@ScottBuckley‬ https://www.scottbuckley.com.au/library/ 1. SHE MOVED MOUNTAINS Very simple ambient piano, focusing on the space between notes. Subtle strings and synths fill out the space. This was a musical response to the passing of someone I knew. 2. WITHIN OUR NATURE An emotional and introspective neoclassical work for piano, strings and synth. Slow moving, but building to a climactic middle section, but falling away to a quieter, textural finish. 3. MONOMYTH – THE RESTORATION The protagonist returns home, restoring the calm and familiarity, but tempered with the certainty of greater knowledge beyond the wall. Simple effected piano with a restrained rendition of the main theme. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project. 4. A KIND OF HOPE A bittersweet piano track with strings and atmospheric synth. A simple musical reflection on my optimism about life… always tinged with a little bit of hesitation – but it’s still a kind of hope! 5. THERE IS A PLACE Melancholy ambient piano and strings – dreaming of a cosy, safe place to ride out the last of this Swedish winter.
