MIELE DI ACACIA PROPRIETÀ

ACACIA HONEY PROPERTIES Acacia honey is a very delicate, lightly scented monofloral honey produced by Robinia pseudoacacia. Robinia pseudoacacia, more commonly known as black locust or acacia, is a tree belonging to the Fabaceae family, native to North America but later naturalized throughout Europe. ACACIA HONEY ANTI-CANCER PROPERTIES IN VITRO Acacia honey contains a particular substance called chrysin, a natural antioxidant compound from the flavone class. An in vitro clinical study has shown that acacia honey is capable of reducing the proliferation of melanoma cells and therefore may also exert potential anti-cancer effects in vivo. ACACIA HONEY PROPERTIES ON ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE A beverage containing water and acacia honey was administered to 10 athletes in a randomized clinical study to analyze running performance. Drinking 500 ml of this beverage one hour before the running test improved athletic performance and glucose metabolism. ACACIA HONEY COUGH SUPPRESSANT PROPERTIES Acacia honey syrup can reduce cough symptoms in children aged 3 to 6 years without causing side effects. However, a multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled study was published in 2022, demonstrating no statistically significant differences between the honey syrup and a placebo syrup in the treatment of nighttime cough in children. ACACIA HONEY CONTRAINDICATIONS There are no particular contraindications to the use of acacia honey. However, it should be noted that honey contains simple sugars, and its consumption must be carefully monitored throughout the day.
