The Delaware Water Gap was one of the most popular tourist destinations in the early 1900s with visitors like Frank Sinatra and President Roosevelt among the many prominent people summering in the Delaware Water Gap. Today the community is the only town in Pennsylvania for offer full Appalachian Trail thru hiker support and has a hiker hostel right in town. Every fall on the weekend after Labor Day, the Celebration of the Arts hosts a world renown Jazz Festival. A trip through the scenic Delaware Water Gap National Park and hikes along the many trails provide great outdoor activities and the wide variety of restaurants have something for everyone.
