2025 Mobilize Duo 80 EVO Test | L7E Elektrofahrzeug Fahrbericht | Preis Leistung | Electric Drive
Renault's mobility brand Mobilize has launched the Mobilize Duo, an innovative and ultra-compact, all-electric vehicle specifically designed for city traffic and urban mobility. The two-seater is characterized by its space-saving design and environmentally friendly concept, making it ideal for commuters and city dwellers seeking emission-free mobility. It is often seen as the successor to the Renault Twizy, and the 45 km/h version can be driven from the age of 15 with an AM driver's license. With its compact dimensions – 2.43 m long, 1.30 m wide, and 1.47 m high – the Duo is one of the smallest vehicles on the market and is perfectly suited for navigating narrow streets and dense city traffic. The upward-opening gullwing doors are striking, both visually striking and practical, as they facilitate entry into tight parking spaces. The unpainted body and robust plastic elements minimize wear and scratches, giving the vehicle a high level of durability. The interior design of the Mobilize Duo is deliberately minimalist. The tandem seating arrangement, with the passenger sitting behind the driver, saves space and creates a unique atmosphere somewhere between a moped and a small car. Inspired by 80s boomboxes, the dashboard serves as the central control unit. There's a smartphone holder with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the phone to be used as an infotainment system. Despite its small size, Mobilize has integrated additional storage compartments, and durable, washable materials ensure easy cleaning and maintenance. The generous window areas ensure good visibility and an open feel. In the test in Rome, the Duo performed particularly well in dense traffic, where its compact width and maneuverability were a major advantage. The Duo has a turning circle of just 6.8 meters, enabling quick and precise maneuvering—a clear advantage in the city. The high agility and immediate responsiveness of the 7.4 kW electric motor offer a dynamic driving experience. With a top speed of 80 km/h, the vehicle is primarily designed for city driving, but also allows for short trips outside of the city and even stretches of highway. Power is supplied by a nickel-manganese-cobalt battery (10.3 kWh) with a range of up to 161 km, which is sufficient for most commutes. The vehicle can be charged from a standard household socket and achieves a range of 25 km in approximately one hour. A full charge to 80% takes approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes. A Type 2 connector is available as an option, facilitating the use of public charging stations. Safety features include a driver airbag – a rarity in this vehicle class. The seat belts are equipped with belt force limiters, and the sturdy gullwing doors offer additional protection. In France, the price for the Mobilize Duo 80 Evo starts at €11,600, including the environmental bonus. Air conditioning, a Type 2 charging port, and parking assistance are available as options. The Mobilize Duo also boasts low operating costs. As an electric vehicle, maintenance costs are lower, and electricity costs are lower than those of conventional vehicles. With its innovative features such as the MyDuo app for vehicle sharing and a digital key, the Duo could change mobility behavior in cities. Furthermore, many recycled materials were used, making the Duo an environmentally friendly solution for urban transport. #mobilizeduo #mobilize #l7e Electric Drive online: https://www.electricdrivemagazin.de You can find the magazine at kiosks or digitally on these platforms: Electric Drive on Readly, the reading flat rate: https://de.readly.com/electricdrive Electric Drive digitally on Zinio: https://www.zinio.com/de/electric-dri...
