Turpan | Flaming Mountains

The Flaming Mountains (Huoyan Shan) are a barren, striking mountain range of red sandstone located in the Tian Shan range of Xinjiang, China, just east of Turpan. Famed for their fiery appearance, they are the hottest place in China, with surface temperatures frequently exceeding 70° C (158° F) in the summer.
