Access to water & sanitation - Butiaba and Biiso residents decry limited access

Participants in the 317KM walk for the environment from Buliisa District to Kampala have held a dialogue with residents of Butiaba and Biiso Town Councils to gather views on how they can collectively promote environmental conservation. Despite Lake Albert crossing through these communities, access to fresh and clean water remains nearly impossible, negatively impacting livelihoods. Area leaders are advocating for the provision of piped water to address the many cases of waterborne diseases caused by consuming salty and contaminated water from the lake.
