After a day of maintenance on the motorbike I am finally ready to set off to discover Guinea Conakry. Direction Fouta Djalon, the plateau located in the center-north of the country, full of splendid waterfalls, canyons and unique rock formations. As soon as I entered from Guinea Bissau I immediately had a wonderful impression of this country, splendid, smiling and hospitable people. I can't say the same about the police, who although (almost) always with a smile and without (almost) ever being aggressive, don't even ask for your documents but get straight to the point: they want money. In these cases the strategy I opt for is to pretend to be stupid. I pretend not to understand the language, I pretend not to have money, I drag it out while maintaining a calm and friendly but firm attitude... in short, I take my time and let the laziness that is quite common in Africa work for me.
