Hopping to Jervis Bay — Wildlife and White Sands

Jervis Bay is our first stop after leaving Sydney, a quiet stretch of Australia’s south coast known for its wildlife, forests, and bright white beaches. We begin in Booderee National Park, where a friendly mob of kangaroos grazes near the shore and a curious joey lets us get surprisingly close. From there we explore Cave Beach, wander through the forest paths, and walk along the coastline where stingrays glide through the shallow water. Later we visit Huskisson, where thousands of tiny tidal crabs scatter across the sand, and Callala Bay, a beach covered in seaweed, shells, and drifting kelp. At Hyams Beach — often called one of the whitest beaches in the world — we enjoy the soft sand under our feet. Dolphins pass offshore, kookaburras call from the trees, and we leave Jervis Bay with the feeling that this is a place we’ll want to return to one day.
