Load path of a building || How load transfer from top to bottom of building
This video shows how load transfer take place in a structure. Load acting on a top of a roof has been transferred to soil through various structural elements and these elements are responsible to take load and to transfer to next element. The floor loads are taken by slab transferred to beam then beam transfer it to column then column to footing and then to soil. So soil bearing capacity should be enough to take the whole structural load coming on it, otherwise there will be settlement of structure and can collapse. For more details please watch full video.
