There will almost certainly be some amount of transmission oil loss when removing the driveshaft so to reduce this, I would recommend draining the gearbox oil first and and you can get an idea of that in my manual gearbox video here    • Manual Gearbox Oil Change   If reusing the gear oil use a clean container, if replacing the gear oil have sufficient quantity of fresh fluid available for the refill.
