You can know Scripture. Serve on a team. Lead a group. Even teach the Bible. And still respond like a spiritual child. Age doesn't produce maturity. Time doesn't produce maturity. Church attendance doesn't produce maturity. Only submission to Christ produces spiritual maturity. In week 4 of Letter to Las Vegas, Pastor James walks through Ephesians 4 and lays out four shifts every believer needs to make: 1. Get off the throne — proud people cannot be formed. The person who already knows everything cannot be taught. The person who refuses correction cannot grow. 2. Get out of the nursery — Christ doesn't make clones, He builds a body. Every part is essential. The goal of leadership is not admiration, it's formation. 3. Get out of those old chains — Christ didn't just break your chains. He gave you a new identity. Stop wearing clothes from your old life. 4. Get rid of the poison — bitterness never stays where it starts. Unforgiveness always promises justice but usually delivers bondage. Forgiven people forgive people. Culture says "sit down so I can take your place." Jesus says "sit down because I already took yours." Humility isn't the destination.
