In mid-January 2026, a "Sword Technique" class for kendo majors was held at the kendo dojo of Nippon Sport Science University. This fourth-year course includes "test cutting," in which students practice cutting a makiwara (a traditional Japanese siege sword) with a real sword. We covered the final sword technique class of the 2025 academic year. Members of the All-Japan Women's Student Championship (team competition) and All-Japan Student Championship winner Shin Fujishima also took part in the test cutting.
