Should you work for a company acquired by a private equity firm?

Sometimes I have great discussions in interview follow-ups. A question I was asked recently by a client was whether or not they should go work for a company which had recently been acquired by a private equity firm. Different than a venture funding round, a private equity investment can mean any number of things depending on the fund strategy, fund lifecycle, management team turn over, and stage of company.
