With your legacy in combat and parrying preceding you, you will continue to learn and counterattack against three warriors of vastly different fighting styles. Some of your prior combat experience with the present enemy types can help, while others utilize attacks that are extracted from their usual context and must be adapted to. Pay close attention and be patient, and you will prove yourself a champion warrior once more. 0:00 - Gaumaru The tradition of facing down a Ninken dog in these duels is continued here. You'll face various blade and elemental attacks, some of which may require you to adjust spacing to optimally deal with. Should Gaumaru ready his blade to the left, he'll perform two quick swipes followed by a powerful slash. Simply focus on parries in time with the slashes - don't try to fit in any attacks of your own. The direction Gaumaru's attacks come from won't matter. If Gaumaru readies his blade up and to the right, a sequence of five spin slashes will follow. The parry timing is constant here, so keep a rhythm going. If Gaumaru performs a slow jump upwards, a powerful circular swipe will follow. This is a single parry that shouldn't be too difficult once you mind his delay. If Gaumaru jumps backwards, close the distance while he's preparing, and note the element his sword is infused with. If it's infused with Electro, he'll send out a spread of three Electro blades - parrying this point blank will cause all three blades to be reflected back at Gaumaru. If it doesn't have an element yet, Gaumaru's going to perform a rush of Anemo strikes. While this rush is long and intimidating, parrying any strike in it will cause Gaumaru to abandon the rush and attempt an ending leaping strike - get close to swiftly get the parry that shuts the attack down. 0:58 - Diminished Seventh Arpeggio This Frost Operative focuses on swift lunging strikes, and has access to some moves that ordinary Operatives need contact with preceding combo moves to use first - keep focused on when she appears and react accordingly. If Arpeggio gathers crimson energy, she will perform a backward spin slash before shooting a projectile at you - parry the slash, then approach her prior to the projectile to keep parry timing consistent. She'll end with an aerial lunge - ready your parry once she starts moving towards you. If Arpeggio crouches and teleports away, a sequence of lunge strikes will follow. Arpeggio will lunge after finishing a crouching animation each time, so use this as an indicator. Another aerial lunge will come after. If Arpeggio leaps backwards, she'll perform the standard spin attack Frost Operatives use. A single parry terminates the attack, so there's no need to worry about this hitting you twice. If Arpeggio slowly brings her blade forward, she'll perform a quick blade swipe followed by a frost blast. Be ready to quickly act against the opening swipe, and be careful about the delay before the Cryo shot. She may also chain this into the crimson energy sequence. 2:05 - Onyx Agate This Fireblade Trooper boasts an aggressive nature, and he's been permitted use of his ranged abilities as well. Varied timings on his strikes means you'll need to prepare for him carefully. If he infuses his blade with Pyro to his side, he'll perform the Fireblade's long chain combo (but with no voice line indicator). It consists of four swift initial strikes with equal gaps between them (the first of which is quite delayed, so be careful), then two much slower ending slashes that are much simpler to react to. Strikes may end up coming from unexpected directions if Agate has to turn around to keep attacking you, but the timing remains the same no matter what. If Agate brings his blade behind him to his side, he'll perform a sweeping slash, which will just be a single parry. He'll often chain this into the Fireblade's lunging combo chain, containing a delayed initial charge followed by a ground impact after a windup. Try to learn this lunging chain in the Friendly fight so its timing can't throw you off. Note that Agate may also use the lunging combo directly if you're distant from him. If you keep some distance from Agate, he can ready his blade's Pyro cannon, shooting off two initial bursts of 3 shots before charging up a final one. Like with Gaumaru's Electro blades, point blank parries will reflect all three shots, but the lengthy charge on the final blast can take some getting used to. Agate also has a pair of Raskolnikov's lightning strikes (the ones used if you fail to break Raskolnikov's barrier) - you're not Kazuha, but parries will even reflect these as well. The lightning itself appears too quickly to react to - instead, time your parries to Agate fully raising his blade to the air.
