Así ha sufrido Managua las fuertes lluvias de Iota - Nicaragua

Despite not being in the path of powerful Hurricane Iota, which has been downgraded to a tropical storm, Managua has experienced intermittent rains throughout the day Tuesday, and many areas of the capital are experiencing overflowing riverbeds and flooding, as the city has more than 100 critical points. Crónica TN8 teams conducted surveys to determine the affected areas and identify some of the actions already being taken by the authorities. The current conditions of accumulated rainfall imply rapid soil saturation, making the soil more susceptible to flooding. Some 15 homes in the Martha Aguilar neighborhood of District 3 of Managua are flooded as a result of the heavy rains. The main street of Máximo Jerez remains flooded due to the constant rains. Members of the Managua City Hall are working in the Villa Fontana area, where a tree fell due to the heavy rains that have hit the capital. The El Dorado Bridge overflowed its banks due to the heavy rains that have continued in the capital since early hours. Another area affected is the Saratoga Bridge, Zone 11 of Ciudad Sandino, where the riverbed also overflowed its banks. On the El Edén Bridge, the streets were completely flooded, and drivers and pedestrians were urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid risking crossing the roads due to the amount of water in the streets, as the riverbed had completely overflowed its banks.
