Aeg peatub restaureerimistöökojas | Jaanus Pihelgas ja tema meistrite toimekas maailm
In this video, we step into the restoration workshop of Jaanus Pihelgas & Co – a place where time moves more slowly and every object has a story to tell. In the workshop, which has been operating for almost 30 years, skills, patience and respect for the material come together. Here, they don’t just repair – they restore the life of furniture, wooden parts and soft surfaces, preserving their original character and the spirit of the era. The camera moves calmly through the workshop, where the following are completed: – repair and restoration of wooden furniture and soft furniture – saddlery and upholstery work – restoration of painting and picture frames – custom-made furniture according to drawings Each job starts with the idea that the object must remain as authentic as possible. If necessary, the structures are reinforced, the original form is highlighted and traces of the era are preserved so that the story will last for future generations. If an item has been worn down too much by time, a new life is born during restoration – based on the era, materials and craftsmanship traditions. The result is an item that looks like a well-preserved old one, but continues to exist in the present day. The workshop also makes copies of historical furniture pieces, which only an expert can distinguish from the original. In addition, woodcuts, carvings and gilding with 22-carat gold leaf are done. This is an open workshop – a place where you can see both completed and unfinished works and experience the daily dedication of the craftsmen. This video is not staged. Just real work, real people and real skills. 🎧 Best enjoyed with headphones 📍 Filmed in Estonia 🎥 Video: Kullar Viimne | Time to Relax
