On Our 6th Meeting, We Finally Brought Home This Dog Who’d Roamed for 3 Years!

She and her husband met a stray dog near an abandoned work shed. His fur was long, dirty, and badly matted, making him look like a filthy mop. The first time they tried to get close, he quickly ran away out of fear. Later, she and her husband brought food to visit him many times and slowly earned his trust. They learned that this dog had been wandering there for three years, surviving mostly on food that kind people occasionally brought him. Because his fur was so thick and tangled, they tried several times to trim it for him, but at first he was nervous and didn’t cooperate much. On the sixth visit, they brought professional tools, an Elizabethan collar, and a rope, and finally managed to cut off the heavy matted fur. The fur they cut off filled half a trash bin. In that moment, it was as if he had finally taken off the “armor” he had worn for three years. Because he only had one eye, her husband named him “Pirate.” From then on, Pirate no longer had to keep wandering. He finally had a home of his own.
