Built in a quiet bay of the Strymonikos Gulf where the glorious history meets the Aegean Sea, Olympiada is known as the place where ancient Stageira, birthplace of the great philosopher Aristotle, was located. It lies 90 km or one and a half hour east of Thessaloniki's Macedonia Airport and 35 km from Ierissos. It was named after Olympiada, the mother of Alexander the Great. The historical past of this place gives the village a special character and makes the area unique in the whole of Halkidiki. The coastal pedestrian street of Olympiada is ideal for beautiful walks by the sea. It is full of cafes, taverns and small shops. Indulge in the view of the vast blue and the sounds of the sea, while in the afternoon, the view of the sunset is enchanting. Olympiada maintains the character of a traditional fishing village, with boats, fresh fish and daily life that flows at a relaxed pace. A few kilometers outside the village, the archaeological site of ancient Stagira is one of the most important attractions in the area.
