Stevie Nicks ~ Beauty and the Beast (Live at the Capitol Center Maryland, July 1983)

I ❤️ The 80s. Most people my age do. Some feel the tinges of nostalgia, others melancholia. I surmise I teeter the precipice of both. I used to submerge myself in music. My tastes never narrowed. I grew up in a Country music household, but as my childhood progressed, so did my love of all genres. I used to create my personal Top 10 Albums of the Year, and distributed them to my friends. They always thought that was odd, but music was my great escape. (My passion went so far that I wanted to be a music critic - not so I can judge, but rather to have the capacity to be paid for listening to hundreds of new releases a month. I was able to do that, without becoming a critic, when I started working in Tower Records in the early 1990s.) I started creating these lists in the early 1980s. It’s funny to see some of them now, and to try to decipher my handwritten notes scribbled on the typed pages. There is a reason…I mention this. On June 10, 1983, Stevie Nick’s The Wild Heart was released, and to fully convey what the album means to me - and my very soul - would require a scroll of everlasting musings. This astounding, haunting, aching, tear-filled performance of Beauty and the Beast is from one of the stops on the Wild Heart tour in 1983, filmed at the Capitol Center, in Maryland, on July 7th. Two months later she came to NYC and played Radio City Music Hall, on September 12th and 13th, where I was front row orchestra for both evenings. (I camped overnight with a few other devout fans - "Chiffon Heads," if you will), waiting for the box office to open. I miss those days.) I remember both evenings as the magic an bliss that they were. Thank you for this eternal gift of “The Wild Heart,” Stevie. There is a reason, why even the angels…don’t give up at all. ******************************************************** I've never seen a hi-rez version of this video on YT. It's been shared for decades, but the quality was always very shoddy. I tried my best to clean it up to the closest to 4K as I could.
