Tomy Skill Squares / Starcades
A look back at Skill Squares / Starcades, made by Tomy in the 1980's. Skill Squares are small, wind-up target games with little balls that you try to flip at moving targets. They're colorful, fun, and collectible. They're a great example of an 80's mechanical toy--the kind of toys we played with before handheld electronic games became common. I had a lot of fun playing with Skill Squares when I was a kid growing up in the 80's. 00:00 : Skill Squares 00:20 : Television Commercial 00:50 : How to Play 02:02 : Gameplay of Rescue Copter 03:08 : Gameplay of Basketball 04:07 : Gameplay of Shootin’ Gallery 05:01 : Gameplay of Goin’ Ape 05:55 : Gameplay of Mini Mouth 06:50 : Gameplay of Rocket Tower 08:30 : Marketing and Packaging 09:23 : Skill Squares vs. Starcades 11:40 : Conclusion Footage of Tomy Mr. Mouth taken from channel "Lucky Penny Shop": • Mr. Mouth Classic Family Game #7010, 1976 ...
