I invite you to meet this car – here are my impressions from my first drives, which took place in very rainy Spain. I got my hands on the version with the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine, 141 hp, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The new Mazda CX-5 is, on the one hand, an evolution of a proven concept, but on the other, it adds a significant amount of "modernity." And, contrary to appearances, this won't appeal to everyone. The Japanese brand has replaced buttons with a screen. The main focus here is the new Arena multimedia system, developed in collaboration with Toyota. Most importantly, however, is how the CX-5 has grown. The third generation is 15 cm longer than its predecessor and has a 12 cm longer wheelbase. The result? It only produces 141 hp and, being naturally aspirated, doesn't offer exceptional performance. The Japanese also managed to avoid some shortcomings that no one expected from the CX-60.
