All platforms 🎶 https://linktr.ee/Andrey_Chmut The Story Behind “London’s Trip” In 2019, about two months before I brought the legendary Bob James to Kyiv for a concert, he invited me to join him for two performances in London. For a young musician from Ukraine, it was a dream come true. Bob’s management handled everything, including our UK work visas, so we were excited and ready for the trip. On the day of our flight, I arrived at the airport with my bandmates—George Iweze and Toby, my bassist and drummer. Bob James and his manager, Sonny Abelardo, had already gone through security while we checked in our luggage. Then everything changed. An airline officer looked at our passports and asked, “A Ukrainian and two Nigerians? Where are you going?” “We’re flying to London to perform with Bob James,” I replied. He looked at our documents again and said, “You don’t have visas.” We explained that we were traveling with work authorization based on a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), arranged by Bob’s management. His answer was devastating. “I’ve never seen anything like this. There is no such visa. Bob James will make the flight… but you need to turn around and go home.” At that moment, it felt like the dream was over. We left the terminal, walked all the way back to the parking lot, and were just about to load our instruments into the car and drive home. Then, my phone rang. It was the British Consulate. “They’re our people,” they told the airport staff. “Let them board immediately.” We grabbed our instruments, ran back through the terminal, passed security as fast as we could, and made it onto the plane just in time. When we walked into the cabin, Bob James and Sonny Abelardo looked at us in complete surprise. They had already started calling musicians in London because they thought we weren’t going to make it. Instead, we landed in London, entered the UK without any problems, and performed two unforgettable concerts together. I truly believe it was God’s miracle 🤍🙏🏼 That incredible journey became the inspiration for “London’s Trip.” The song is a reminder that sometimes, just when it feels like everything is falling apart, one unexpected moment can change the entire story.
