Do you know WHAT LAMINATE FLOORING IS? Laminate wood flooring is one of the so-called FLOATING FLOORS, meaning it is installed over other floors if necessary and can also be removed for later installation in another location. Many people confuse LAMINATE FLOORING and VINYL FLOORING, but although they are similar, they are quite different. VINYL FLOORING is made from PVC and imitates wood. LAMINATE FLOORING, on the other hand, is not wood flooring, but it does contain wood in its composition, which has four layers: Protective Layer: the first, lower layer of the flooring, made of synthetic material. It can be installed over a subfloor, ceramic tile, porcelain tile, polished cement, liquid porcelain, slate, granite flooring, wood flooring, plank flooring, parquet, and this is a great advantage for those who are unsure whether to use laminate or vinyl flooring, as vinyl flooring is not recommended over wood flooring. Laminate flooring cannot be installed on damp floors, carpet, loose tiles, or floors with more than 3mm of irregularity. In the case of dampness, it is ideal to waterproof the floor. But how do you install laminate flooring? Installation is very simple, quick, doesn't create a mess, and you can use the room on the same day. Sheets are used, and then the laminate pieces are fitted together using a click system. The layout always overlaps and can be horizontal, vertical, or even diagonal. However, there are laminate floors on the market with moisture resistance. Waterproof laminate flooring, as it is known, is made of a high-resistance and high-density wood panel. But it's good to say that it is water-resistant, not waterproof as some say; it can withstand water on it for 6 to 24 hours depending on the model you choose.
