Walking to Historical Southwell | Nottinghamshire Walks
Walking to historical Southwell in Nottinghamshire, a market town with it's own Cathedral. Where King Charles I and Cardinal Wolsey had their last Suppers before heading to the Tower of London to be Beheaded. Route Info From Fiskerton Train Station we head to Southwell, passing the original Bramley Apple tree and the Prebends before reaching Southwell Minster/Cathedral and the Palace ruins. Then out of Southwell to Halloughton and to it's C13 medieval tower, onwards to Thirstly Coppice passing the Roman Villa remains and then to Epperstone passing a rare Dovecote and the Manor which use to be Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters and training school. then onwards passing Epperstone Park before reaching Calverton and the End of the Walk by St Wilfred's Church. 23km's - 14.5 miles Route Download: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/1186...
