In this vlog discover with me the city of Trois-Rivières in Canada I'll show you around the town as well as the Moulin de la Pointe du Lac Trois-Rivières This city is halfway between Quebec and Montreal and is the second oldest city in Quebec. With 140,000 inhabitants, it is the most populated in the Mauricie region, making it its capital. Its name is a mistake since when Jacques Cartier went up the river in 1535 he had the impression that 3 rivers flowed into it right where this city is located but in reality it is only one and the same river, the Saint Maurice River, which is interspersed with small islands, which gives this impression. The city was one of the most important paper manufacturing sites in the country, it housed 3 large factories, 2 of which are still in operation today. This is what earned it, at the time, the name “Paper Capital of the World” In 2009 it was elected cultural capital of Canada The center : The city center is not very big It is made up of 2 main streets: rue Notre Dame Center and rue des Forges which is lined with a bunch of cafes and restaurants, there is a good atmosphere in the evening. At the end of rue des Forges we arrive at a mini lighthouse which is on the bank of the Saint Lawrence River From there you can access the historic district which is not big either, there are very beautiful old houses, which gives a lot of charm to the main street, rue des Ursulines Pointe du Lac seigneurial mill: This mill built in 1765 is a water mill so it has the shape of a large rectangular building. (you can visit it for $5) I didn't visit it, I went straight to see the lake just behind (it's an artificial lake) The trees around are reflected in it, it’s superb!
