Designing A Catamaran That Can Be Built In A Day
Winter’s coming and I’d love to build a boat before it does. But is it possible to build one in a day? Only one way to find out – but first I need to decide what sort of boat to build. Something that doesn’t cost much and can be put together with screws and string. And how big should it be? So many questions – but what an interesting and exciting project it is! By the way - it seems that when calculating the scale weight (or volume) then you don't just divide the original by 5 (or whatever). Nope. Because it's a three-dimensional thing, you need to keep dividing twice more. So, for a 1/5th scale model, with the original weight x, then the scale weight = x/5/5/5. Interesting, huh?
