How To Make Dry Hay/June 21, 2022

Today at Ewetopia Farms, we continue on with our discussions about how we make hay. In previous videos, we discussed making wrapped hay. But we had the opportunity to make dry hay due to perfect conditions so we decided this time to focus on what is needed and involved with making dry hay. It sounds simple but there are things you have to consider before you decide on making dry hay. Hay needs to feed your animals throughout the winter months and throughout the year if you are totally confinement farming so it is critical that you make your hay correctly so that it retains its quality for as long as possible. We show you how we decide when to make dry hay and when not to. We show you how we do it. We try to make it as simple and straightforward as possible so that even people having no knowledge of making hay will understand the basics by the end of the video. With sheep farming, there is always something new to learn. At Ewetopia Farms, we try to incorporate learning opportunities when we encounter them as we go through daily life on our working sheep farm. We attempt to show life as it truly is on our farm and to present things with a touch of humour.
