Power ON Light for DX6i. Why and how.

**I bought*** a 3rd Spektrum Dx6i, which is the same as my others only this one has DSMX technology. Since there are no backlights or on lights on the transmitter, I found myself several times leaving the Transmitter on after a night flying session. I made a video similar to this before over 2 years ago and many asked me to tell the value of the resistor and LED, and show better where to hook up the power, so the reason I am doing this now. My logic is based on Fuzzy Algorithms, and I know many also will tell me to buy a backlight to put behind the screen, but this is expensive at between $45 and $150 and still I can't see it from a few feet away in the dark! Open up the Spektrum DX6i and add a 3.5-3.7 Volt LED indicator from Radio Shack. The voltage on the Spektrum is 6v nominal, so any 6v volt LED will work. But any smaller size, simply put a 100 ohm resister in series with the LED and it will work fine. This is a 3.7 Volt LED I am using. Make sure to put the negative to ANY black wire in the radio. I used the black wire right on the lower plug. Then simply solder the + lead to the red wire on the same plug. You can see where I did it in this video. Make sure no wires are interfering with any stick action and put the back on. This may or may not void any warranties, but was a necessity to me after leaving it on so many times. Thanks kindly for all your support. I would appreciate if you would please take a moment rate the video, subscribe to be notified when I produce another RC Television show, and if you know of others that would like to see this video, please pass it on.
