Legislator Kao Chin Su-mei, who was accused of fraudulently claiming assistant fees and subsidies totaling NT$7.87 million through false representation, and even illegally importing rapid testing kits from China, has had her case investigated and concluded today. She has been sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison on three counts: fraud, corruption, and violation of the Medical Services Act. Kao's assistant, suspected of fraudulently claiming subsidies of NT$9.33 million, is also facing a 16-year sentence. A total of 24 people have been indicted.
