Hello, this is Kogerin彡 Thank you for always watching the Kogerin Channel☆ This video introduces the Seihaku Festival, which has just begun in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Held annually from May 2nd to 5th, the Seihaku Festival features three large floats dedicated to the local Sanno Shrine (Daijinushi Shrine). These large floats carry on a very old tradition. In 1983, the "Seihaku Festival's Float Procession" was designated a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, and in 2016, 33 "Mountain, Float, and Stall Festivals" from across Japan, including these large floats, were registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1st, 2024 at 4:10 PM, the festival was held only as a religious ceremony two years ago. The large floats were revived last year, and this year, the large floats from the three towns were able to parade again. We will continue to support and pray for the recovery of Noto after the earthquake.
