Cumbria - Bolton Fell Moss – Peat Harvesting and Restoration
Today’s visit is to the National Nature Reserve of Bolton Fell Moss, near Brampton in Cumbria. Until recently, this was a busy commercial peat mill removing vast quantities of peat from the bog for use in compost. Now this rare lowland raised peat bog is being restored and is accessible to the public to discover. Take a walk with us around the site, learn about the importance of peat and get a bird’s eye view of the changes afoot. ⛅⛰️🌊🌳 Filmed by #dji drone To get the most from the commentary, we recommend sound up or captions on 🎧
