How to make a concrete mold to press your own skateboards

In this video, we show how to make an accurate concrete skateboard mold using CNC cut high density foam from our friend Beau at Open Source Boards. This is a low cost way to build a very accurate custom skateboard mold for pressing your own decks at home. If you are into skateboard making, DIY mold building, and small batch deck production, this method is a great way to get professional results without spending a fortune. We left the second one out of the edit to avoid repeating the same steps, but in hindsight we should have shown it. We used 2 pieces of rebar total, not 3. That worked out to 1 ten foot piece per mold. On the second mold, the one without the mounting screws in the concrete, we used a drywall screw on each side and tied the rebar to the screw with tie wire to hold it off the form. You can see the wire sticking out of the concrete and wrapped around the screw at the 5:47 mark. We also used foam casts in both molds. We left the second one out of the edit for time, but both molds used the same process.
