An outrageous incident occurred in the Villa El Salvador district, where a church fell victim to the growing crime wave after thieves broke in and stole various items from inside the church. The Virgen de Guadalupe Parish in Villa Madre was targeted twice in the same week. The first robbery took place on Monday and the second on Wednesday, both in the early morning hours, when the criminals managed to enter the premises by bypassing existing security measures. According to parish officials, the perpetrators even reached the fifth floor of the building to steal items from the bell tower, instruments used by the choir, jewelry belonging to an association that supports the church, and the money collected from parishioners' donations. OUTRAGEOUS THEFT This incident has generated outrage among the choir members, who expressed their dismay at the fact that the church was robbed twice in the same week. They also noted that the loss of the musical instruments represents a severe blow, as these were not the product of donations, but rather acquired through their own efforts. “It was something that caught us completely by surprise; this has never happened to us before. It's very painful to see that we didn't have any instruments,” said a member of the church choir. Furthermore, the thieves had the audacity to damage part of the church's infrastructure to gain entry and then remove the stolen items through an adjacent door. FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT On the other hand, it was indicated that parish activities, including masses, have not been canceled. It was also announced that a fundraising event will be held on July 19th to help recover some of the stolen items.
