This is the first of a series of workshop videos I will be doing. Excuse the mess, place needs a good tidy up sometime soon! Today I am looking at a few golf buggies that need repairing, first one is an EZGO PDS variant golf buggy, something I haven't really worked on before. I thought there was a control unit fault as it wouldn't enter diagnostic mode and wouldn't move forward or reverse, and everything I had so far tested was fine. First thing, the beeper was faulty, hence why I couldn't hear the diagnostics mode beeping, fixed this and was finally able to get the diagnostic "beep" code so I could focus on fixing the issue. After putting a beeper on the buggy, it seems the beep code is pointing to a faulty throttle. Specifically the Inductive Throttle Sensor (ITS). The part has been ordered and will have an update video in the future. The second golf buggy we were working on was a Hillman brand cart. This had been brought in due to the motor and brushes failing, therefore I cleaned inside the motor and put brand new brushes in. However, the customer asked me to do a small fix with replacing the accelerator pedal spring, this didn't work out well and I ended up damaging the throttle potentiometer which needed replacing in the end. Anyway in the end I got it working and the customer is delighted to be able to use his golf buggy again, learned a few lessons along the way but in the end we got there!
