Hamburg Street Portraits | 6 Easy Tips to Photograph Strangers with Jannis Dirksen (Part 1)

In this video, I travel to Hamburg, Germany to meet with Photographer Jannis Dirkson. Follow along and watch as Jannis demonstrates his unique approach to making a street portrait session with complete strangers. He gives us 6 easy tips so you can overcome your fear of approaching strangers to ask if you can make their portrait. In Part 1 of this 2 part series, I fly to Hamburg to seek out the advice of Jannis. I discovered his Youtube channel where he has hundreds of videos of him photographing strangers on the streets across Europe. I had only managed to summon up the courage to take two street portraits in the past and had developed a fear or mental block to making any further progress. So I reached out to Jannis. He was gracious to allow me to watch him making street portraits in Hamburg and gives us 6 Tips to overcome your fear of photographing strangers.
