#samariagorge #crete #cretegreece Spontaneously (on the evening before) we booked a hike through the Samaria Gorge. So early in the morning at 6 am we found ourselves at the bus stop in Plakias, entering a bus and heading for the northern entrance of the Samaria Gorge. Almost 3 hours later we arrived there on an altitude of 1,250 m. The destination was 16 km away, at the shores of the Libyan Sea in Agia Roumeli. Our time for this hike was limited to 7 hours, as we had to reach our ferry there which is the only way to leave this town with no street connection to the outer world.
