Fabric Top Series | Gluing, Trimming & First Reveal

After all the testing, trial and error, and a couple of failed experiments, it's finally time to commit. In this episode of the Tele Fabric Top Series, we glue the fabric to the guitar body, let it cure, and begin trimming everything back to shape. Now, if you're looking for a professional luthier demonstrating the "right" way to do a fabric top, you've probably taken a wrong turn somewhere. This channel has always been about learning, experimenting, and bringing you along for the journey—the successes, the mistakes, and everything in between. Along the way we talk about what worked, what didn't, why the glue behaves differently than expected, and what I'd already do differently if I were starting over. We also take a first look at how the fabric transforms once the glue cures and begin cleaning up the edges in preparation for sanding sealer. Whether this ends up being the first and last fabric top I ever build... or the first of many... I'm glad you're along for the ride. As always, grab your favorite beverage, pull up a chair in the shop, and let's talk guitars... and life.
